The New York Times contained a great article by Kathleen Leighton titled: "36 Hours | Kansas City Mo."
Here's an excerpt where she mentions us.
8:30 p.m.
Slow-Smoked Barbeque
For a funky blend of Blue sand barbeque, try
B.B.’s Lawnside Bar-B-Que (1205 E 85th Street, 816-822-7427). Barbecue is revered as
an art form in Kansas City, and roadside joints don’t get more authentic than this.
A piano player pounds out the blues in the corner and ribs are slow-smoked for 14
hours in a 50-year-old barbecue pit. The B.B. King combo ($12.95) serves up ribs,
sausage, and pulled pork, with sides of battered fries and pit beans. Save room for
the bread pudding with sweet bourbon sauce ($3.95). Bands start playing at 9:30 ($4
cover charge).
